Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx truly deserves endless praise. The wonderful staff, from the front desk to the hallways, are caring, patient, and professional. The nurses and doctors work incredibly hard every day, and I am deeply grateful for the multiple successful surgeries I’ve had here throughout the years. I also appreciate the kitchen staff for consistently providing great food. There’s something special about a hospital where you can get lost in the long hallways and still feel cared for. Montefiore is a true neighborhood staple, and I hold deep respect for Sir Moses Montefiore himself. Most importantly, I am beyond thankful for the successful surgery my mom had here and the love shown by every doctor, nurse, and staff member involved.

DONT GO HERE. The nurse never collected my urine before the MRI Scan and the Emergency department is filled with travel nurses that they hire that do not know what they’re doing. This is how they removed my IV, I immediately went to another hospital after to Find out that Monty gave me a hematoma on my hand by removing my IV. Do not go here they don’t know what they’re doing. When the doc felt that he no longer wanted to treat my pain, he closed the curtains on me and then sent me over to Psych Because I Called and reported him to the state of New York. If this is how they retaliated on my hand all because I called the state on them, be careful.

The moment you walk in the lack of training shows. Took my mother in who suffers from dementia and is unable to speak for herself. Was told that as her daughter and patient advocate I had to leave her alone in ER. had to go around and get a visitor pass. Was also told that the home attendant was allowed to enter without a pass. Please help me understand that policy and evidently the lack of training on the need of a patient with dementia. I then called patient advocacy and spoke to Stephanie who took the complaint. She informed me that the patient advocate staff was on another call. I explained once in the ER I would not have phone service. I was already in the vicinity and knew I wouldn’t be able to take a call so I walked over to the patient advocate area and was denied service by the receptionist. Wouldn’t let me past the main entrance. Via front desk staff, I was told I had to wait for a phone call and needed an appointment to speak to them regarding the concern I had about the ER. How does this make any sense. To speak up about your dissatisfaction and poor service the staff in charge of this area requires you to make an appointment. Never in My health care career of over 30 years have I ever seen or experienced such terrible services Please do not take any loved one to this hospital.

I am extremely disappointed with how my concerns were handled. I contacted this organization after one of its employees, Sharonda Gantt, used a photograph of my deceased stillborn daughter on Facebook without my permission. I provided supporting documentation and screenshots because I believed this matter deserved serious attention.
As a grieving parent, this experience has been incredibly painful. My daughter was an innocent baby, and seeing her image used in this manner has reopened an unimaginable loss. Although I reported the content to Facebook, the photograph remains online.
I expected a healthcare organization to carefully review concerns involving conduct that I believe lacks compassion, empathy, and respect. I hope this organization continues to review matters of this nature and upholds the professional standards and values that patients and families expect from those who represent it. -
