  • I donated via PBSC at this location, and I felt well cared for the entire time. Nurses were attentive and very informative every step of the way. They made sure to tell me I can snap a picture with my donation and tried to keep me comfortable and comforted throughout the process.
I was regularly presented with hydration, and my vitals were regularly checked.

If I have any complaints, it would be that the water I was given was the Dasani brand and in my opinion it's the grossest water brand, but I was easily provided with blue powerade and juices instead.

I would say that my companion definitely could have been present for the parts that were actually anxiety filling for me, being autistic and away from home and anyone I know, the final injections and the initial hooking up to the tubes, but my companion wasn't brought in until everything was hooked up. The room was pretty small, but they could have also waited in the hallway if the space was an issue

I had a great experience but I would suggest working on leaving it up to the patients whether the companion is present for the beginning process or not. Personally the higher my anxiety gets, the more painful everything feels, and at least being able to see my companion nearby would help, I'm not someone who feels comfortable with demanding that when it sounded like it was not an option to have them with me

  • This was my first time donating! The team here treated me with such respect and care, from the moment walking to my destination and meeting everyone, they definitely made me feel welcomed.
The nurses especially made me feel like I was home, taking care of me to conversating and having a good time. Definitely would give them a higher score if I could.

  • I had a terrific experience at MedStar’s Stem Cell facility! The facility was brand new and everyone I interacted with was kind and great at the technical components of their job - from the phlebotomist to the nurse practitioner to the nurse that guided me through the procedure and spent most of the day with me (Kerri E) - everyone was lovely. Truly, I couldn’t say enough good things about Kerri. She was really great at what she does. I really appreciated her great bedside manner and that she was proactive in warning me about certain experiences and noises that may otherwise have concerned me.

    I would definitely recommend MedStar!

  • I recently completed a stem cell donation through your hospital, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire care team who supported me throughout this journey. From my first contact through the final stages of donation, every member of your staff demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to patient care.

The medical team made sure I was informed and prepared for every step of the process. They explained everything clearly, answered all of my questions patiently, and always made me feel like my comfort and safety were a top priority. The nurses and coordinators were exceptional kind, empathetic, and incredibly reassuring, especially on the days when side effects from the injections made things tough.

What stood out most was the level of personal care. I never felt like “just another donor.” I felt seen, heard, and genuinely supported. That kind of care makes a difficult and emotional process feel purposeful and manageable.

Thank you for creating such a supportive environment for donors. Because of your team, I was able to walk through this experience with confidence and peace of mind—knowing I was in the best possible hands.

  • First visit went well and I am getting ready for a new journey. Staff was nice and respectful. Looking forward to working with them.
