I had a very unpleasant experience with Dr. Kenneth Fan in the Plastic Surgery Department. His assistant, Kim, was welcoming and made me feel comfortable, but unfortunately the consultation with Dr. Fan was completely different.
I had legitimate questions about the procedure, and I felt his demeanor became visibly irritated and impatient. His body language, sighs, and overall energy made me feel as though my questions were an inconvenience. There was very little explanation about the procedure, and the entire visit felt cold and rushed.
I’m naturally bubbly I smile, laugh, and communicate openly and I could feel the energy in the room shift. It became uncomfortable enough that I actually told him I noticed he seemed agitated. Even Kim appeared to recognize the change in the atmosphere and stepped in.
As a woman of color, the experience unfortunately left me questioning whether there was a cultural disconnect or bias involved. I cannot say what his intentions were, but I can absolutely speak to how I was made to feel.
This was an elective procedure involving my body, so trust and communication are extremely important. After that consultation, I no longer felt comfortable moving forward with Dr. Fan.
I appreciated Kim’s professionalism and the photos that were shared with me, but unfortunately, the physician interaction overshadowed the entire experience. I have never left a doctor’s appointment feeling this uncomfortable and dismissed. -

I was one of the visitors in the hospital when my mom was being hospitalized. I love how caring the staff were. The nurses their were very informative , hospitable , and respectful. I really liked one nurse. (Matt ). He was genuine and kind and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I want to definitely thank him !!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the care my husband received at this facility. The entire staff was incredibly professional, compassionate, and attentive but I want to give a very special mention to NIKA ATTAR, our nurse in the Procedural PACU unit.
Nika went absolutely above and beyond in caring for my husband. Her dedication, warmth, and genuine concern for his comfort and well-being made a stressful situation so much easier to bear. She was attentive to his every need, checked on him. Her professionalism combined with her kind and gentle nature is truly a rare quality. We felt so fortunate to have her by our side during such a vulnerable time.
Nika is a true asset to this hospital, and she is the kind of nurse who reminds you why healthcare is such a noble profession. Thank you, NIKA ATTAR from the bottom of our hearts! 🌟
From the very moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by BEV SANFORD at the Cardiovascular Front Desk. Navigating a hospital can be overwhelming, but Bev made the entire experience so much smoother with her patience, kindness, and clear guidance.
She took the time to answer all of our questions, directed us with a smile, and made us feel genuinely welcomed rather than just another appointment on the schedule. Her positive attitude and excellent communication skills set a wonderful tone for our entire visit. It is clear that she takes great pride in her work and truly cares about the people she serves.
BEV SANFORD is a shining example of outstanding customer service, and she deserves to be recognized for the incredible difference she makes every single day. Thank you, Bev SANFORD ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -

Dr Walsh and her staff are always professional and so very kind. I have been under their care now for a year with breast cancer and received chemotherapy and immunotherapy . They make my visits more than just visits. They are truly wonderful people and care for their patients!

We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional compassion and care we have received from the doctors at MedStar Georgetown after our move from San Diego. From our very first appointment, every physician we have worked with has treated us with genuine kindness, respect, and empathy. They have taken the time to listen, answer our questions thoroughly, and made us feel like partners as we move forward.
What has stood out most is not only their outstanding medical expertise but also the heartfelt compassion they bring to each interaction. During a challenging time, their patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment to our care made all the difference. Chris and I are so thankful!
We are especially thankful for the specific doctors who are guiding us through this journey. Their professionalism, dedication, and genuine concern for our well-being have given us confidence and hope every step of the way:
