I actually read the reviews about the ED of GWU hospital, especially the negative ones and had some concern before I decided to go ER. I was visiting DC on a business function and had my episode of severe asthma attack. Went to ER. It took only two minutes to get to the bed and had immediate treatment, various tests with each waiting period reasonably within 5 minutes to 20 minutes except CT scan is about 30 minutes after all the other tests. Changed to a single bed room after the first test. Nurses and doctors were busy in handling many patients. But they were all super nice and caring. Only comment is about the potential improvement on reading the incorrect reading of blood oxygen level because of the loose connection of the sensor on the finger tip, which almost costed me to have to stay one more night with oxygen supply. I insisted to go back to hotel by showing the correct oxygen reading after I straitened the tube and pushed tighter the sensor. Finally discharged and had a full night sleep at the hotel felt good recovery with continued medication obtained in the nearby pharmacy later on. Overall a wonderful outcome from a wonderful experience in GWU. Yes, there were student doctors who came to see me and learn. I love them not just because I am a professor but also because they get valuable training for future health care. Two thumbs up. Finally it was Sunday afternoon. May be that was the good time to visit an ER to get a good experience (just kidding).

Excellent hospitality, great surgery, and many thanks to Dr. Vaziri! He is an amazing doctor and his staff is incredibly supportive and awesome! My only recommendation for Washington, DC: restrict buses and heavy traffic on 23rd Street. It’s challenging to drop off or pick up patients efficiently.

I had a very pleasant end-to-end experience at this hospital. The staff was not only friendly but also highly capable, ensuring a smooth and efficient process throughout. Everything, from start to finish, was timely, and the procedure itself was well explained and executed seamlessly. I’m very satisfied with the care I received!

My experience was horrible! It started out in the emergency room where I was sent from urgent care as I had experienced a stroke. I told the nurses there that had not had anything to drink so I knew I was dehydrated and that they were going to have a difficult time getting blood from me or putting in an IV. They decide they insisted that they could get the IV in and that I had to have the IV ultimately they called. For I guess a special IV team that does ultrasound to identify veins. That was a very painful experience. I also told The nurses that I had had a double And could not have blood Or any procedures in my left arm. The in Wanted to insist that she should be able to use my left arm, even though I told her that she could not. Ultimately, she called a resident to insert the. IV and it was very painful. It was put in a position that was very precarious and when I got to the unit. Out it felt like the needle was right below my skin and every time my arm moved it was like the needle was poking out of my skin. About two weeks later Have a TEE. No one told me that I could not take my Ozempic for 10 days. TEE so when I came in on the date, the TTE I was sent home because I needed to be off of the Ozempic for. That to me is inexcusable, the nurses should have told me That I was not gonna be able to use my Olympic for 10 days and I would’ve gladly stopped it until the Procedure Completed. A week later I was able to get the TEE and I have to admit that the nurses on that unit and the anesthesiologist team. Were all very competent and I felt very comfortable And also felt that there And caring about the patient that I did not feel for the emergency room and on the initial neurology unit. When I was discharged, I was asked Come back to see the neurology team in two weeks however, I was unable to make an appointment because of your I guess it’s a centralized scheduling And the only thing they could do is tell me that they did not have any Until May. Mind you, I have been admitted to the hospital and stayed in the hospital for 3 1/2 days because I had a stroke you would think that. There would be some way for a patient who had come into the hospital Situation to get follow up care in less than three months that is obviously not quality care and I think the hospital should be ashamed of itself. Up till then I always felt comfortable with my primary care doctors my rheumatologist and the other doctors that I currently see through medical faculty associates. I think this is a shameful and definitely not a quality or caring experience from what should be a renowned hospital. That as a result of this experience I considered switching from GW to one of the other hospital systems in the area. I thought about choosing the option of voting with my feet and leaving GW, however because of the excellent experiences that I have had with my medical doctors, including my primary care, doctor, my rheumatologist and my pulmonary doctor and renal doctor I will probably stay with them a little more Another experience like I’ve had before will definitely make me leave GW

Had very positive experience with recent out-patient surgery at GW Hospital. The staff was excellent, everyone explained things to me very well both in pre-op and post-op. They were also kind which is so. And everyone seemed very proficient at their job. And the procedure was successful with only the most minimal discomfort afterwards. I would definitely put my trust in GW Hospital, based on this experience.
