My mom was recently seen in the emergency room, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care she received from Dr. Nisbet, Kenneth, RN, Amanda, Tracy, and every staff member who assisted us, all the way to the security guard who greeted us upon arrival. The entire team was absolutely PHENOMENAL!
From start to finish, the care, compassion, patience, and understanding shown to my mom throughout the weekend were truly remarkable. They took the time to listen to her fears and concerns, made her feel heard and cared for, and recognized us as family members who were there because we love her and wanted the very best for her. Their attentiveness, compassion, and sense of urgency did not go unnoticed.
I am incredibly impressed with the emergency room team under Dr. Nisbet’s leadership. Dr. Nisbet is truly a GEM! His professionalism, bedside manner, and compassion are qualities that every physician should strive to embody. I sincerely hope other doctors have the opportunity to learn from him because he is clearly in the right profession.
I could go on and on about how wonderful this experience was, but most importantly, I want the entire team to know that their efforts made a real difference to our family during a stressful and frightening time.
Thank you all for treating my mom with such kindness, dignity, and respect. Healthcare needs more people like you. You are a credit to your profession, and we will never forget the care you provided. ❤️ -

Our family is incredibly grateful for the exceptional care Dr. Saba Gogolauri provided to my 91-year-old mother during her hospitalization at Bayhealth Kent Campus.
From the beginning, Dr. Gogolauri took the time to truly listen to my concerns, answer every question, and explain my mother's condition and treatment in a way that was clear and reassuring. I never felt rushed. He welcomed my questions, carefully considered my suggestions, and when appropriate, incorporated them into her care.
What sets Dr. Gogolauri apart is that his commitment to his patients does not end when his shift is over. Even after going off service, he remained available to answer my questions and communicated with the physician assuming my mother's care to help ensure she was discharged with the appropriate recommendations. That level of dedication is extraordinary.
On his last day caring for my mother, he spent a considerable amount of time reviewing each of her medications with me so I understood exactly what she would be going home with and why. He genuinely wanted to make sure nothing was overlooked.
My mother is 91 years old and in poor health, but Dr. Gogolauri never treated her as though her age diminished the importance of her care. He treated her like a person whose quality of life mattered. That compassion meant more to our family than I can express.
Dr. Gogolauri is not only an outstanding physician, but also a compassionate, thoughtful, and genuinely caring human being. Bayhealth is fortunate to have him, and our family will always be grateful for the difference he made during one of the most difficult times in our lives. -

**Absolutely unacceptable experience — especially for a pediatric patient**
I am beyond disappointed and honestly horrified by the lack of care and communication we experienced at this hospital. I brought my 15-month-old son to the ER after he had projectile vomited multiple times. As a mother, naturally, I was concerned and looking for medical attention and reassurance for my baby.
After triage, we sat in one waiting room for **two hours**, only to be moved to another room in the back where we waited for an additional **three hours**. During that time, they swabbed him for various viruses, but after FIVE HOURS, nobody had communicated the results to us. Not a single doctor, nurse, or other medical professional came to check on him after triage, despite my repeatedly asking for updates.
We were given absolutely nothing during this entire ordeal. No water, no food, no diapers, no wipes, and not even a call bell to request assistance. They placed us in a room, closed the curtain, and seemingly forgot we existed.
When I asked about the delay, I was told that a doctor had not yet “claimed” me as a patient. That explanation was particularly disturbing. My 15-month-old son is not a number waiting to be claimed. He is a baby who came to the emergency room experiencing repeated projectile vomiting and whose mother was seeking medical care.
We were also out of town, which made an already stressful situation even more difficult. After five hours of waiting without meaningful communication or evaluation by a medical professional, I ultimately walked out to consider taking my son somewhere else because it was clear that we were not being treated as a priority.
I understand that emergency rooms get busy, and I understand that patients must be triaged based on the severity of their conditions. What I do not understand is how a toddler can be left for five hours without being seen by a doctor or nurse, without updates on test results, and without even basic supplies or a way to call for help.
**The lack of communication, compassion, and basic patient care was unacceptable.** Parents should not have to repeatedly chase down staff for information about their sick child, and no family should be left feeling abandoned in an emergency department.
I would give zero stars if that were an option. I sincerely hope hospital administration reviews what happened here, because no parent should have to experience this when seeking emergency care for their baby. -

Hospitals and healthcare in general is really sad. The drs and nurses must have a prerequisite of having to be able to lie to your face as a requirement. With the ability to see my chart now I was shocked at how many false conversations the drs and nurses claim to have had that never happened. It’s quite scary that they have that much power over your healthcare. They only things that can really do damage to you with other providers. They do not have your best interests in mind only their predetermined judgement of you and your care. I have always heard of this place as killer Kent and I completely understand now why it’s labeled that

We had an amazing experience at Bayhealth Kent county labor and delivery and postpartum units. Suzanne in L&D was so kind and caring. You could tell how much she truly loves her job. Her presence, education, and attitude is the reason why mom and our baby were safe and had a great birthing experience. The postpartum nurses and aides were so attentive and gentle with mom and baby. Nurse Mary went above and beyond for us and helped explain things to relieve our worries. She does an exceptional job in every way! Other nurses that will also hold a special place in our hearts because of their kindness on postpartum are nurse sarah, nurse Audrey, nurse jamina, and nurse Sam. Thank you all for everything you do. You all are so special to us and I’m sure many others.
