THANK GOSH I GOT A SECOND OPINION AFTER BEING RIDICULED AND DEGRADED HERE TODAY, PER USUAL. They know me there, due to my health issues, which they’ve made very very clear they don’t believe I have; even though I’ve had 9 stomach surgeries back to back since October of 2019. I was left sitting in the waiting room until I asked for a patient advocate, then I was taken back to a room. I sat in the room for 2 hours before ANY type of healthcare worker came in. Once the doctor finally came in, there was no talking to her. She had made her mind up about me already. Go figure. After she walked out, I went out and asked for the patient advocate, where I was laughed at by a female nurse, and a male nurse told me “I already said one was coming. Go to your room or leave”. I responded with “you said 2.5 hours ago that they’d be down to see me in 30 minutes, and no one has came in.” He raised his voice at me, and repeated “GO TO YOUR ROOM OR LEAVE”. Meanwhile, the female nurse was still laughing. I ended up leaving. They caused me to go into a complete mental breakdown over their behavior towards me. It was terrible. I KNOW my body, and I KNEW something was wrong. Thank the good Lord above I went somewhere else and got a second opinion, because if I hadn’t, who knows what would have conspired.
I also work in healthcare. I’ve seen good, and I’ve seen bad. I’ve been treated good, and I’ve been treated badly, but one thing that’s for sure? I would NEVER treat anybody in the manner that Mon General ER staff treats people they “think” they know so well.
They honestly need a whole new staff there. It’s pathetic how judgmental, rude, and careless they are.
I forgot to mention this. Due to them constantly accusing me of being a “drug seeker”, even though they can drug test me at any moment, I told the doctor I wasn’t expecting anything in the narcotic family, and that funny enough Benadryl via IV, has helped me with pain multiple times in the past. SHE REFUSED BENADRYL. She was demanding Tylenol, KNOWING I was MAXED out on Tylenol. THEN, she tried forcing ibuprofen products on me, which I am NOT allowed to take, because it throws my body into toxicity due to one of my depression medications (I almost lost my life to this toxicity last year).
All I can say is, do better. Treat people better. If they treat someone like me so badly, I can’t imagine how they treat others who also don’t fit their “perfect image”.
The fact that my blood pressure was 164/88, I was having the issues I was having, I was completely broke down mentally AND physically, then I get treated like this. AGAIN?
How many times will this be allowed this happen with these same staff members?? -

I was recently hospitalized for a sudden illness, surgery and follow up. I was in the ER 8/7 and the hospital from late 5/7 through 5/9. I habpd the most wonderful care and experience! I have very few hospitalizations in my 70 year life. This stay was completely unexpected and scary for me. In the background, Every nurse, My nurse practionee in the an ear, every aid, every technician, dietary worker, transport worker, were so kind to me. Everyone too the time to make sure I was comfortable. I most likely over exceeded my warm blanket limit, but if I said Iwas cold, someone was right there. I cannot express to the whole group of people who took care of me! It was a very scary time for me, and they made it a day at the Spa!

I went in because of cancer in my uterus and had a complete hysterectomy. Dr. McBee and his nurses were the best I ever had. They went out of their way to make sure I was doing good. They called me after I got home, a couple of times to ask how I was doing and see if there was anything I was worried about. I never had a hospital staff make me feel so cared for as them. As far as I am concerned, this is a TOP NOTCH place to go for what I had done.

I have had continuously positive experiences in my care through Mon General. I have been hospitalized under care from the Cardiology Department where I underwent testing from the radiology, and pulmonary departments. I continue to see other Mon General specialists, all of whom have been kind, professional and very complete in their assessments and treatment plans. I also need to add that the inefficiency and inept service and treatment from WVU Endocrinology landed me in Mon General. I am always treated with respect and warmth not only in clinical environments, but also my Mon General affiliated PCP. My father-in-law just had a stroke and received 5 star treatment from the best nursing staff we have ever met. He was in Mon for 2 weeks and 3 days and saw a total of 5 other departments due to health issues that were recently discovered during his admission, all of which saved his life. He is recovering so well, of course we thank God for that, but again this team of care professionals always has gone above and beyond each time we have engaged with them.

I have always heard bad things about this hospital but my opinion after they saved my life yesterday is nothing short then thankful that's where I went. I think Ruby is overrated. This team at this hospital are rock stars in my opinion. Especially the nurse Lindsey She needs a raise. Thank u all
