  • I'm so thankful and grateful for the care I've received here in Vermillion SD over the past 4/5 yrs. The Wound Care Nurse Shari is the nicest person you'll ever meet. She does an outstanding job here with all her patients, not just myself. She has been a nurse as well as friend. A person I can talk to about my wound care needs and a person I can vent to on occasion, because of my medical issues. Its been hard for me many days to accept what I'm dealing with and she is always so reassuring and so positive. She really cares for her patients. What more can you ask for, right. That's why I chose to receive wound care here in Vermillion or up in Sioux Falls rather than back in Sioux City. They don't compare. It's worth driving the short distance to receive top notch care. And Sanford Health is just that.
The staff here at the Sanford Vermillion clinic are all so helpful and friendly. They have gone out of their way to assist me in so many ways. For that I'm very appreciative to all of you. My only issues I have, not calling them complaints, just a couple things I brought to the (Supv) of wound cares attention and so far, nothing has happened yet. First thing was a TV for wound care patients like me to watch while receiving care. I don't like looking at my wounds, EVER. I just can't do it and a TV in this small sardine can of a room would be tremendous. Believe me it wouldn't take much at all to add one in here and if maint told you they cant make it happen, then they lied to you. I mean all the other rooms have TV 's from waiting rooms to over in Phy/Therapy where they must have 4 or 5. You could borrow one from them. They wouldn't miss it.
And lastly, what about a bigger room for wound care Supv. Did you happen to look into it when I brought it to your attention a few months back. I realize youre busy but to remind you again, there's not much room to even turn around in, in the wound care room. There has to be another room that can be dedicated to Wound Care, Supv. For starters the room right next door to Wound Care now. Its only been empty 99% of the time i have come for my appts 2x a week. I mean its better a little bigger than what Shari works in now. Could be utilized as a temporary for Wound Care until the Supv comes up with one, right. The room used now is not big enough to bring a spouse or family member in with you, without them getting in the nurse's, ( Shari's ), way. Thats why I don't bring my spouse along. No chair for her or anyone to sit in. I know you know this Supv/Mgmt. Try it sometime, I bet you'd have a new room the next day cause I would. Yet the nurse just goes about her day never saying a negative thing about her working conditions. Boy I would and am now. I feel like I'm cramped in there and I'm knly in there an hour. Make it happen Supv. I know you can do it. And don't forget about the TV. Some days I'd rather watch TV for an hour than talk and drive the nurse out of her wits. Thank you for listening. Other than those minor little issues that (any) Supv could resolve quickly, Sanford in Vermillion is a great place for receiving care. That's why I come here. Don't fall for the old " were sorry Supv, there's just no way we can run wire, (coax or cable), to that little, (broom closet), room that the wound care nurse works in and set it up for a tv. It's just not possible Supv). If you hear something like this, they are lying to you. They could easily split off from one of the many lines feeding the tvs out in Phy/Therapy. Just saying. Everyone likes to be comfortable when receiving care. Those 2 things would shut me up. Have a great day all. Keep up the good work... ( Mike )

  • I had a bite wound that got infected. It took over 3 months of wound care. Most important is with out their help and Infectious Disease help Dr. Nirmal and staff, I would not be spending the next 3 months in Rockport Tx. I’m so glad that I took all the Staffs advice and got the wound to a point where I can take care of it.
Tanks to ALL INVOLVED. Now I have a “leg to stand on”

  • Wound healing can be a long process. So it is a ❤️Love/😡Hate relationship with your Wound Clinic. I Love ❤️ the nurses at wound clinic, they know their stuff, they are open to teaching, listening and always ready to help the patient and their family members. The hate part, wounds don't always respond positively so going to clinic 2 or 3 days a week gets old after a few weeks. The staff at Sanford's Wonderful Wound Clinic make wound clinic a happy place🥰Thank You All🥰

  • Love the people 💕

  • Wonderful attentive staff and doctors.
