Was visiting from East Tennessee hunting pheasants in October of 2026. Went to the ER because my hand was swelling. I was treated professionally and with respect by the front office to the .nurses and all the staff who xrayed me and checkedp me for blood clots. Dr Bradley and her entire staff were awesome and I left confident with my diagnosis. I would recommend this hospital with a 5 star rating

Recently my husband was cared for at Avera St Luke’s in Aberdeen. He was hospitalized twice during a 5 wk time span. He was admitted through ER both times, cared for on 3rd floor the first time and spent his final days in ICU. Everyone who cared for him was competent, kind and compassionate. These were difficult days for my husband. . However, the staff at St. Luke’s did everything they could to care for him and ease his struggles. This meant so much to us and we are so grateful for the high level of care he received. In his last hours, the nursing staff in ICU was so kind and caring to us as a family. We will be forever grateful to them for helping to make a difficult situation a little easier. Marilyn McNeil

I hate to leave a 1 star review because the nurses on staff were incredible. However, the Doctor in the ER was absolutely terrible. He was dismissive, impatient and disrespectful. I’ve never had a doctor storm out of a room because he didn’t want to answer my questions. Dr Pietz ruined my experience and failed to do his job. I would not recommend this emergency department to anyone as long as he’s still working there.

I honestly thought highly of this hospital because of its name. But unfortunately I have to leave a not good review. The nurses on the 3rd floor are very rude an disrespectful. My grandfather was there in his final days of life. An the staff treated him an my grandmother terrible. I myself work in the medical field. An coming in this hospital an seeing how unsympathetic they were makes my heart hurt. Violation of hippa laws. Nurses discussing patient care infront of other families. One nurse specifically said. "He supposedly used a urinal per the wife" "no proof of that" "He stopped eating so there you have that too". Then my grandfather's nurse decided to come in his room on her cellphone having a full conversation. When my grandmother asked her a question she told her to wait. Finished her 10 min call then decided to ask my grandma what she wanted. My grandma said "its ok nevermind" she looked at my grandma took a deep breath an walked out. Very unprofessional! Im very disappointed in the nursing staff there. I could never treat any like that. Let alone when they are in their final days of life. Do better!

I originally gave this hospital a very bad (1-star) review. This was due to the initial service given to my daughter and her experience with the billing department. I have updated my review because someone in the organization recognized the injustice that my daughter endured and reduced her bill from $67,500 down to something below $3000.
