I have struggled with multiple autoimmune diseases since I was a child and have seen many specialists and providers over the last 40 years only making marginal improvements. I had accepted that pain and discomfort was something I had to live with (and I did for many years) until I heard a podcast talking about Functional Medicine. I wondered if maybe this approach would be the ticket to better health. I immediately started researching providers in my area and came across GrassRoots Functional Medicine. I made the call and within a few weeks I was having my first visit with Dr.Osgood. This visit was eye-opening. Dr. Osgood compiled all of the information from my questionnaires and spent over an hour talking with me, getting to know me, understanding my medical history and inquiring about the issues that concerned me most. We made a plan that day...tests and labs were ordered, a visit was scheduled with the Nutritionist and Health Coach and for the first time in my life I felt heard. He wasn't trying to prescribe any medication to help mask my symptoms, he was trying to find out what was causing them. Shortly after my first visit I received a video explaining my test results to watch prior to our next meeting. This video was informative, comprehensive and was a great tool for me to refer to if I had questions or concerns. Dr.Osgood and his team treat you as an individual. If an approach isn't successful he makes adjustments that my body responds better to. There is a holistic approach at GrassRoots. I have learned so much about my diet and how food impacts the inflammation in my body. He understands that with chronic pain and illness also comes stress and anxiety. He and his team are so kind. I have never felt judged for any emotion I have had through this process. The progress I have made in the last 2 years is pretty substantial...imagine if I had started on this journey sooner. I am grateful everyday for this incredible crew of providers for helping to restore my health...both physically and mentally. Take my advice and invest in yourself. Best decision I ever made.

All of the staff at Grassroots has been amazing. 9 months ago I could barely walk through the door. My health and mental health were rock bottom. Today I’m feeling like a new person. I’ve worked hard and followed all of the recommendations, not always easy! I have more energy, I’ve lost 35lbs, I eat healthily and walk 4-5 miles a day plus engage in other outside activities. I’m amazed at how much my mental health has improved and my outlook has changed from bleak and depressed to positive. I now have tools to use and I’m continuing to make positive changes and improvements both physically and mentally. I will be continuing on with the maintenance plan at the end of the year. Honestly I can’t rate Grassroots high enough for the changes and improvements they’ve helped me to achieve.
