Review of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Wildwood Integrative Healthcare by Edward Monser, patient Overview Wildwood Integrative Healthcare offers Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as part of its holistic approach to wellness, which includes patients recovering from lumbar fusion surgeries experiencing related nerve damage. This review summarizes the benefits observed by myself undergoing HBOT, focusing on its impact on neuropathy, balance, flexibility, and overall recovery performance. Background on Post-Lumbar Fusion Surgery and Nerve Damage Lumbar fusion surgery is performed to stabilize the spine and alleviate pain associated with conditions like degenerative disc disease. However, some patients may develop neuropathy or nerve damage post-surgery, leading to symptoms such as pain, tingling, or loss of coordination, particularly in the legs and feet. Conventional rehabilitation may not always fully address these complications, prompting the consideration of additional therapies like HBOT. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Explained HBOT involves patients inhaling pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, enhancing oxygen delivery to tissues. This process can stimulate various healing mechanisms, including: - Increased oxygen concentration in bodily fluids - Enhanced cellular repair and regeneration - Reduction in inflammation and swelling Given these physiological effects, HBOT can play a vital role in treating complex post-surgical issues, particularly nerve-related challenges. My Benefits from Treatment I have seen several positive outcomes following my HBOT sessions: 1. Significant Reduction in Neuropathy: I have experienced a remarkable decrease in neuropathic symptoms in both feet. This reduction in pain and discomfort is pivotal in reclaiming normal function and mobility. 2. Improved Balance: Enhanced nerve regeneration may contribute to better balance and coordination, which are critical for daily activities and overall safety. I have noted a newfound confidence my physical abilities, allowing for more active engagement in life. 3. Increased Flexibility: I have experienced improved flexibility in my legs and back, which is essential for rehabilitation following lumbar fusion surgery. Enhanced mobility allows me to participate in therapeutic exercises and daily activities more comfortably. 4. Accelerated Healing with Combined Treatments: The integration of HBOT with low-level laser therapy which stimulates nerve growth, and conventional physical therapy has proven beneficial. This combined approach has led to accelerated healing and improved performance outcomes, maximizing the overall effectiveness of the rehabilitation process. Conclusion Based on my experiences, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Wildwood Integrative Healthcare demonstrates promising results while I am recovering from lumbar fusion surgery with resulting nerve damage. Notable benefits include the reduction of neuropathic symptoms, improved balance and flexibility, and enhanced healing outcomes when coupled with complementary therapies such as low-level laser treatment and conventional physical therapy. Recommendation For those navigating recovery from lumbar fusion surgery and related nerve issues, exploring Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Wildwood Integrative Healthcare may provide significant benefits. Anyone considering should consult with their healthcare providers to determine the best individualized treatment plan that incorporates HBOT and other complementary therapies for optimal recovery.

I have been seeing Dr. Pat since June 9, 2025. It was the best thing I ever did! Before I saw Dr. Pat, I have had three meniscus surgeries on my left knee and two meniscus surgeries on my right knee. I was looking for a different type of treatment because I’m trying to avoid a knee replacement. I recently went on a nine day vacation trip to Helen, George to go hiking with a friend discovering the waterfalls around this area. I hiked 22.8 miles in seven days. I believe without the 12 treatments I received from Dr. Pat, I don’t think I would’ve been able to do this journey. My knees, legs, and back didn’t hurt at all. I even went down 450 steps to a see an amazing waterfall, then back up 450 steps in 12 minutes and 45 seconds without any pain, not bad for a 63 year old woman. On another day we went down 325 steps to see the Tallulah Falls and Gorge, then of course back the 325 steps. This was a fabulous trip and with Dr. Pat’s treatment it was pain free and I had the best time! I am looking forward to my next hiking adventure and knowing it will be pain free! Thanks so much Dr. Pat for helping me enjoy my life doing things I didn’t think I would be able to do! Sincerely, Diana Ables

Pat has been wonderful to our family. She kindly allowed me to use the hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber in her office and provided my parents with excellent care. We’ve been going to her office for over 10 years. And, I know I am in safe hands with Barb. I was apprehensive at my initial HBOT sessions but she knows what she’s doing. The Wildwood team is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly dedicated to her patients.

It is now going on 8 months that I have been seeing Pat Bauer for prolozone therapy for my back. The transformation is incredible. When I first came to see her I was not able to find comfort in any position. I am now comfortable most of the time. Truly what someone would call amazing. What would like to call a miracle. The office is clean and comfortable. I am so grateful that there is an alternative method of healing available. The staff are kind and courteous. Appreciate that the appointments are on time.

I can’t say enough amazing things about this place and the staff!! They are so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Barbara is an ANGEL ON EARTH! Truly so thoughtful, helpful, and a joy to be around. Not only did she have the bed ready and set up for me (with all the various pillows and props I would need given the surgeries I had, after only our first visit the day before. She even had the show I was watching queued up on the monitor for me too!) She also helped me find a suitable HBOT provider in my home state so I could continue treatments back home for my wounds and wrote out a protocol for me to follow as well. I can’t say enough amazing things about her. SHE is the reason I will be back for more sessions next year when I return! She also helped my husband and I get some supplements from the office as well and gave me advice for my future surgery as far as what to do before/ after. Thank you so much!!!
