I appreciate that they have challenges with all the construction going on and I believe that this is an excellent hospital run by very talented doctors and staff. However, the lack of coherent signage directing people to the emergency room would be funny if it wasn’t so dangerous I was in emotional state and so perhaps it was just me, but I would imagine that lots of people driving to the emergency room or in an emotional state Come on Allina you’re much better than this

I had a planned back surgery by Dr Shafa at A/NW. I was very impressed with almost EVERYONE that provided care and services. The couple of people who weren’t 10/10 are being compared to a bunch of 10s and 11s, so…. From maintenance, to Dr Shafa and his team, to cleaning staff, to PT and OT, to discharge helpers, to PAs, to nursing assistants, to pharmacy to nurses (OMG THE NURSES!!!), to room service all were pleasant, positive, talented, patient, great listeners and clear communicators.
Signage was a bit confusing but once construction is done that will be much better.
I would not hesitate to be treated by the FANTASTIC staff at A/NW again. -

I had an excellent experience, service and care from a team who treated me with respect and kindness throughout my emergency room visit. There were a lot of firsts for me with this visit. The care team was awesome! Thank you to Dr. Royson, Nurse Kenzi, Mary (CT Scan) and Katie (Ultrasound) and all the other behind the scene helpers! I highly recommend Abbott Northwestern. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My husband had a major surgery at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. We were very happy with the surgeons and medical staff. The nurses were outstanding. He had some complications and was in the hospital longer than most patients and throughout the nursing staff was top-of-the-line. Nurses would get a five star rating. The four star rating comes from cleanliness. While nurses and staff hand sanitized as they entered and exited rooms, the rooms themselves were not all that clean. We were in the oldest part of the hospital. We were told that in August, they would be moving to the new hospital. I think the experience would be much better as far as cleanliness in the new Hospital.

DO NOT send anyone you love to their psychiatric unit. It’s inhumane treatment, rude HUCs and staff. I had my adult child admitted to keep the care coordinated as the psychiatrist was in the Allina system. As legal guardian, I wasn’t allowed to speak with them, I was hung up on, the overseeing doctor and social worker were rude and dismissive. I told them to do a med wash as it was a med reaction, they ignored my directions and increased the very med that was causing the reactions. I told them not to remove a medication they did so without providing a necessary med that would prevent seizure activity. I was told the hallucinations were gone, they were not. I had never been so terrified. I ended up going to Abbott and had an AMA discharge. I immediately brought them to Fairview. The hallucinations were present still. I got the med wash and I was a hundred percent correct on what was happening. I thank god that I have guardianship and I was able to rescue and bring my loved one to a safer facility. I have chosen since then that I will no longer get any care through the Allina system. The cuts alone to the necessary staff to line the pocket of the CEO while the care of people suffers is a disgusting reality of what was once a great hospital.
