My family has called St Vincent wound care clinic on behalf of my father, who is a long time chronic diabetic ulcer patient and multiple-time amputee (no hands or feet, two below knee amputations), inquiring about hyperbaric oxygen therapy that was recommended by his most recent surgeon after an infected wound cleaning surgery. After multiple unreturned phone calls, the front desk lady we finally got in touch with told us 1) the waiting period is 3 months and 2) he doesnt qualify for treatment because hes in a skilled nursing facility... for 2 weeks. Are you actually mentally incompetent? Because he's in a facility until friday, you cant put him on the waitlist for treatment that wouldnt be for another THREE MONTHS?
After dealing with the St Vincent hospital and them trying to force yet ANOTHER amputation (above the knee this time), just for us to go to Vanderbilt Hospital and get told he didnt need an amputation at all, this demeanor and blatant unwillingness to help from St Vincent staff is tragically unsurprising, but absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately these people do not want to help anybody but themselves and their own wallets. You are just another inconvenience they have to deal with. -

I have been coming to the wound center since 2015. Dr Voekel is the best she is very understanding, patient, caring and extremely knowledgeable. Would and have recommended highly. And the receptionists Lisa and Gabby make every visit a pleasant one.
