  • I want to sincerely thank Dr. Harper and the entire nursing team for the amazing care I received. From the moment I arrived, everyone treated me with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. Dr. Harper took the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and made me feel comfortable and cared for throughout the entire experience.

The nurses were absolutely wonderful — attentive, patient, reassuring, and genuinely compassionate. Their support and positive attitude made such a difference and helped ease my nerves. I truly felt like I was in the best hands possible.

Thank you all for going above and beyond. Your dedication and care are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.

  • I have a non healing chronic wound, and have been going to Community East Wound Care for several months (5 or 6 appointments). My subjective experience has been subpar overall to the point I would give zero stars if possible. All of these comments are based on my own experiences. Wait times can be extremely long; I've waited 2 hours past my appointment time to see the doctor for a few minutes. This simply is not reasonable; patients have lives and other commitments. Respect our time. During my March appointment I could literally hear the entire conversation in the next room (and thus assume others can hear all of my medical details), so this place clearly doesn't take patient confidentiality seriously, and this is a serious HIPPA violation. I have had 2 different physicians (because there were billing issues with the first doctor even though my insurance was, theoretically, accepted) and 4 different nurse managers. This has not provided continuity of care and additionally, caused significantly more stress to me. Honestly it seems all Wound Care does is take pictures of my wound, measure my wound, and order supplies, and the only value added part of this for me is getting the supplies. I don't experience receiving any care that improves my quality of life. I have never been presented with a comprehensive wound care plan even though I have asked for one. They won't call the medical supply company when supplies are late, and say that's the patient's responsibility; nice try at out sourcing your job. Also they won't give you supplies when your shipment is late; I had to call another physician's office in a different hospital system to have enough supplies until my shipment showed up. Clinic visit fees in the hundreds of dollars per visit ought to cover this type of support, and there should not be any questions about it. Additionally, the responses I get when I leave a message about not understanding something tend to be incredibly condescending, 9f the "the doctor talked to you about this" variety. I called because I don't understand the written instructions. I have a graduate level education and if I don't understand the language used and get "attitude " when I call for clarification that's a huge problem. All written instructions for patients are supposed to be at a 6th grade reading level, and these are very difficult to follow with a technical background and a graduate level education.

There seem to be systemic internal communication issues within Wound Care, as critical information that I have repeated over and over, like a metaphoric "broken record" has not been added to my chart. Or so I am told; it could just be another excuse for a nurse ignoring a patient. Honestly, having to constantly advocate for yourself on the same topics every time you have an appointment because the nurses don't add the information to your chart is both frustrating and exhausting. Plus it's entirely avoidable. The physician I have had my last 4 appointments with writes clinical notes that are half fiction, which is essentially falsification. She certainly doesn't ask questions that elicit information she is writing down.

There are some very good physicians and nurses here, but the poor ones who don't listen, don't document accurately, and don't respect consent until the patient gets assertive to the point of anger really cast a cloud over this department. As a patient you shouldn't have to expend energy on anger to get results, but assertive and proactive communication hasn't been enough here. My net experience discourages me from seeking so called "care" because these appointments add very little of value and are a burdensome experience.

This place has been exhausting and extremely unhelpful. I'd suggest taking your business elsewhere.

  • Victoria and her staff made me feel safe and secure. They are most professional,
    Patient, informative and friendly.

  • Everyone was polite, courteous, and professional. Knew techniques to heal my leg quickly and effectively. A very pleasant experience.

  • I've been living in Indianapolis for about 25 years. Community East is the only hospital I've bee going to since I lived here. Everytime I've gone to Community East the staff is always friendly and I can tell that each one of them loves what they do for a living.
