The BEST spot in San Diego for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Beautiful destination in downtown La Jolla, a block from the ocean so I can get a treatment, and follow it up with a walk around the village, or go to the beach. Great vibe and friendly staff. Allyssa, the Wellness Director, is super helpful and makes you feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

Essential Medicine is the best hyperbaric oxygen therapy clinic in San Diego. From the moment I walked in, I felt relaxed and at ease. The space is beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming.
Allyssa accommodated me with an appointment on a Sunday, which I truly appreciated. She was so kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire process.
I had been dealing with body aches, and was recommended hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I was a little nervous at first because I am claustrophobic, but Allyssa immediately put me at ease and assured me I would be comfortable. She was absolutely right.
After my session, I felt noticeably better. My energy was up, and my body aches had decreased. Their saying, “Breathe. Heal. Restore.” truly reflects the experience.
In addition to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, they also offer acupuncture, infrared sauna, naturopathic care and other wellness services. I highly recommend Essential Medicine in La Jolla. -

I started coming here mainly after intense workouts when I was feeling really sore and needed a better way to recover. I tried their hyperbaric chamber, and acupuncture, and it’s made a huge difference in how quickly I bounce back and how I feel overall.
I love their holistic approach. The team is super knowledgeable, welcoming, and the space is very calming. Highly recommend if you’re looking for recovery, wellness, and aesthetic care all in one place in La Jolla. -

What an absolutely stellar experience at Essential Medicine! I felt an immediate sense of calm when walking through the front door. We were greeted by one of the practitioners, Jools. She was so welcoming and set us up for our sauna session. She explained how to adjust the settings if needed and left us to one of the most relaxing hours of my life. The greenery, natural light, superior craftsmanship and exquisite ceramic drink-ware made for an absolute blissful sauna session. The post sauna shower is conveniently located in the sauna room so you don’t have to go far and ample towels were provided. The facility is EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Scheduling was also a breeze and I know they offer many many services to help you feel your best. I have met Dr. Chris before and he is attentive and thorough.

Wow! The facility is beautiful and so soothing, but most importantly Dr. Heather Low is incredible. She really took the time to take a thorough history and get into the root of what was going on and how acupuncture could help support my wellness goals. Dr. Heather is so in tune with your body and was spot on with her assessment. She talked me through every step of the process and I felt so at ease in her calming presence. I don't love needles (who does) but she's so gentle and intentional with her placement that I didn't even notice that they were in. I felt so refreshed after treatment and have continued to feel great since. I suffer from migraines and have not had one since I started seeing Dr. Heather. I'm so impressed and am so excited to continue working with Dr. Heather and Essential Medicine!
