Rooms are old and outdated. Small cramp. Old wooden chair in room was all I had to sit on. Wobbled when I moved st all. I thought it was going to collapse. I am handicapped and I had to sit on the bed. Understaffed. Nurses were nice though. Haven’t seen the doctor because I came he was admitted on the weekend when the doctor was off. WVU is a corporate demon!!!

I went in for a potential heart attack. Got stuck in a room for 4 hours. They ran my metabolic panel just like everyone else ive ever seen. I saw the doc for 30 seconds. I got handed 4 vitamins and sent home. That cost me $800! My discharge papers were an absolute JOKE they claimed to have checked all kinds of things... they checked NONE of these things! They said they didnt find anything my chart said otherwise. The entire nurse staff and the doctor were out in the hall doing absolutely nothing but complaining about patients and laughing. My machines came undone numerous times. Guess how many times they came to check? NONE! I went once before for a bartholin cyst... spent 5 hours sitting in the waiting room which as you can imagine was extremely painful. When I get back there and dont want to sit he says, "does it really hurt that bad" kinda sarcastically... at the time this thing was at least the size of a golf ball... luckily the nurse who drained it was nice. It ended up coming back though... I think id rather just die at home...

By far the worst hospital WVU is associated with! My sick son who is only 11 months old came in to be evaluated for his fever and cough with a few other symptoms. We waited about 30-45 minutes to be triaged. In the triage room the nurse either was incompetent and couldn’t work the baby scale or it was malfunctioning. She swabbed my son for Covid rsv flu A and flu B. When she’s done she sends us back to the waiting room lobby of the emergency room.On mychart his test results pop up that he is positive for flu A. I waited in the lobby for an additional 3.5 hours and still didn’t see a doctor or get sent to a room. As we are waiting to be seen people who have come in after us are being taken back to see a doctor. I ask the nurse and she said as soon as a doctor was available we would be seen and it would be soon. I sit back down and wait an additional 45 minutes before asking what’s the protocol for flus and if they have a treatment plan. She was unable to help because she isn’t a nurse she is just check in which is understandable but her co worker who is a clinical nurse chimed in and informed me that the doctor would only tell me to alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen. So we left and they immediately checked him out. Not once did anyone even put a stethoscope to his chest ! In almost 5 hours he was not treated or even assessed correctly! He is 11 months old with the flu what is more important ? Nobody is more important. So I brought my baby home and tomorrow we will go to Meritis. Shame on these staff and the care they give. They spent more time chit chatting than working up front. These people were drawing blood in the lobby in front of everyone!! This place needs to be shut down!!!!!!!! I should have never came back after my horrific birth here in January with same said son.

Had to rush my girlfriend to ER tonight with multiple dog bites on her body. We both want to thank all the ER staff working tonight 2/22. Everyone of the staff member we came across showed extreme care and professionalism. Thank you to all the staff Discharged extremely satisfied.

Nursing staff is rude and unhelpful. We waited 45 minutes for a tissue and over 4 hours to hear the results of a CT scan after being told my son was at risk of losing his eye following an injury at work. Nursing staff refused to give her name and when she finally showed up with tissue, had removed her badge and brought a 6 inch stack of gauze as well. No compassion, horrible attitudes and unnecessarily long wait times because staff would rather be on their cell phones than actually assisting patients in their time of need. We have waited over 9 hours to hear the results of a CT scan. After calling the hospital operator and asking to speak with a patient advocate, I was transferred to the "head nurse" who informed me that they need "something stronger in the coffee" if they have to deal with patients. I'm sorry but isn't that their whole job? If you need medical attention you are better off driving to Virginia.
