I gave birth to my baby here. I’ll list all the things without writing a novel. He’s 1.5 now and healthy and I’m grateful but others may not be as fortunate with the lack of care and attention this hospital provider. They called me in to induce me. Once induced they left me for 20+ hours to dilate. Horrible and painful. I beg them to help me. Nothing. My blood type was listed wrong in my chart. The one doctor on staff was entitled and rude until the older doctor clocked into work. He was kind but busy. They told me hospital was full and to go home after being induced and sitting there for so long. I refused because I was in too much pain. I called my insurance and my midwife looking for someone to advocate for me. I was crying to the staff that this was horrible and all wrong but they basically told me to suck it up cuz I’m not the center of the universe. Eventually they had no choice and baby was coming. Nurses using their phones during delivery. Discussing weekend plans while I’m giving birth. Food was inedible. I hated it. They stole a special precious memory that I will never get back or have the chance to redo. I will not the anesthesiologist was the highlight of my visit. Heed my warning and do not go here for anything serious or life threatening.

We got a Ambulance parked illegally in a fire lane. That's quite the hypocritical stance ladies. Way to lead by example so my wheelchaired mother has to go around you all.

I've been a patient in some the best hospitals in America: John's Hopkins, Sinai, Mercy. I elected to have serious cervical surgery performed at Berkeley County Medical Center because area renowned neurosurgeon Dr. John Caruso is a neurosurgeon on staff. I'm totally satisfied with the surgeon, surgery, nurses, staff and everything else. Berkeley County Medical Center provided better care for me than any of the big city hospitals ever did. I bet the new renovations will make the hospital even better. In my opinion WVU health system should be very proud of Berkeley County Medical Center.

Rooms are old and outdated. Small cramp. Old wooden chair in room was all I had to sit on. Wobbled when I moved st all. I thought it was going to collapse. I am handicapped and I had to sit on the bed. Understaffed. Nurses were nice though. Haven’t seen the doctor because I came he was admitted on the weekend when the doctor was off. WVU is a corporate demon!!!

I went in for a potential heart attack. Got stuck in a room for 4 hours. They ran my metabolic panel just like everyone else ive ever seen. I saw the doc for 30 seconds. I got handed 4 vitamins and sent home. That cost me $800! My discharge papers were an absolute JOKE they claimed to have checked all kinds of things... they checked NONE of these things! They said they didnt find anything my chart said otherwise. The entire nurse staff and the doctor were out in the hall doing absolutely nothing but complaining about patients and laughing. My machines came undone numerous times. Guess how many times they came to check? NONE! I went once before for a bartholin cyst... spent 5 hours sitting in the waiting room which as you can imagine was extremely painful. When I get back there and dont want to sit he says, "does it really hurt that bad" kinda sarcastically... at the time this thing was at least the size of a golf ball... luckily the nurse who drained it was nice. It ended up coming back though... I think id rather just die at home...
