Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound

My experience was a very pleasant one. I had 53 treatments with Sandy, Janet, Carrie and Adam and they were all so very caring and professional. If you are in need of the healing power of the Hyperbaric Chamber, I highly recommend Portland Providence. I am adding to my post to give you an update on my results to my 53 treatments in the Hyperbaric Chamber. My issue has been, Proctitis due to radiation damage (similar to Chrones disease). During my treatments, I felt very little improvement but 3 months after my 53 sessions, I am happy to report that I am seeing great improvement in my issues. The many weeks that I devoted to help improve my quality of life was worth every minute. Thank you to the entire Hyperbaric team for giving me my life back!

I was really dreading the treatment being enclosed in a chamber for 2 hours, but it really wasn’t that bad after the first few sessions. The nursing team of Sandy, Janet, Adam, Carrie, and Evelyn was so supportive and caring. In fact, they become like family or good friends after 40 sessions. They made sure I was comfortable and had a good movie to watch. My original wound has healed nicely, and hopefully the infection has cleared. Kudos to Dr Richmond and Dr. Rotter for overseeing my treatment!

I had 80 2-hr sessions which stopped the bleeding I was experiencing from radiation caused bladder cystitis. The entire crew are skilled professionals. Their patience and senses of humor made each day so much easier to experience. BTW there is a large catalog of movies and TV series available to view during your treatment or you can watch live TV. There is no doubt that I will stop by to visit these special people.

I have done decades of public health law and my wife is a nurse practitioner. Thus, we can evaluate the quality of medical services and the professionalism of the health car providers. Due to severe complications from radiation treatment, I had over 50 hyperbaric treatments. I regularly interacted with the staff and heard them interact with other patients in a non-confidential setting. The staff and hyperbaric services are TRULY excellent. The staff explain things in detail and are friendly as well as professional. I hope that Providence appreciates and acknowledges the quality of this department. During treatment, the nursing staff will be VERY helpful and can easily become new friends. While the entire staff is excellent, I had the special opportunity to QUALITY care from Sandy, Adam, Jane & Carrie. If you need hyperbaric services, THIS department should be a top choice.

At first I was extremely nervous about doing this. I had all these weird ideas of what was going to happen. When Janet came out to the lobby, she reassured me that there was nothing to worry about and someone would be monitoring me the entire time I was in treatment. About 2 hours later, the first treatment was finished and Janet was right. Nothing to worry about. For the rest of the treatments, I was left in the capable hands of Sandi, Adam, Janet and Carrie. All were very professional and kind. They were also very good at movie selections to make the time go faster. I just completed the required 40 treatments and I am happy to report that the wound is healed. If I have to go back, I will look no further than Providence Hyperbaric for my care!!!!! Thank you guys and gals!!!
