When I had a consultation - I never ended up seeing actual doctor. Later I was told that my assigned protocol was reviewed and approved by a "doctor" whom I never saw nor did he look at my MRI images or anything. All they asked was an x-ray of my lungs. I guess for liability reason. Then they proceeded to put me on 2.2 ata which apparently is potentially toxic and dangerous for a person with TBI, especially for a first timer. Really disappointed because I was really counting on HMS to help me heal.

Utter waste of time. Shitty, dirty, messy quarters. Medical team override your own doctor's recommendation for treatment in acute situations and act as if they have superior knowledge of your illness when in fact they ask for the most rudimentary, non sensitive and inefficient results. They have managed to ruin not only my week and my weekend with all the back and forth but also delayed much needed and prescribed treatment. UPDATE: Dr. Katz, the medical director of the center, called me to follow up and explained the metabolic approach used as preparatory process in his treatment before using hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I really appreciate him taking the time to work with me and to educate me. And also appreciate Ivory in the front office in Manhattan for her help in scheduling and forwarding documentation. I'm still furious and frustrated over my time being wasted and the added stress level in the middle of health crisis. But grateful that Dr. Katz stepped in to take matters in his own hands.

This center was specifically recommended by my MD post-surgery and it is the best I have been to, and I have tried places i NY and elsewhere. The chambers are the roomiest/huge and clear glass (which helps if you are claustrophobic) and they are nice and cool. The pressure is medical grade for medical results and healing. Everyone here is very nice, smart and has clearly been educated and trained on HBot at a medical level. Ivory at the front desk does wonders in onboarding, I had a zillion questions and the two PAs are always there to answer your questions. All the techs are great (I can't remember all names). Other places might be cheaper but you're not getting medical grade and there is a huge difference, no comparison in results.

I couldn’t be more grateful to have found HMS. When finding out I needed hyberbaric oxygen treatment ( for an unanticipated and extenuating amount of time), I had just undergone a surgery and was still very nervous and overwhelmed. After completing two treatments at a nearby hospital, HMS was distinctly different. My experience at each of the 3 NY locations even felt ‘spa like’ and less of a medical facility. From the moment I walked in each day everyone who works there provided a caring environment and truly made me feel like they had my experience and my healing front and center. Every single person at HMS is incredible—from the front desk, to the PAs, to the techs. When shopping around for HBOT providers, HMS responded and got me in for 4 sessions before other places even returned my phone calls. Alex and Ruqaiya moved super quickly to make sure I could get onto their schedules ASAP and are so easy to work with. Cindy and Maryellen were so patient with me and my million questions, helping assuage my concerns. The techs (Altaf, Jeremi, Armando, Gabe) were all WONDERFUL.
